Mr Brian Martin
Professional Bio
Brian Martin is a first-year PhD Candidate at the Melbourne Graduate School of Education and scholarship holder with Melbourne University’s cross disciplinary Centre for AI and Digital Ethics (CAIDE). His PhD is focused on developing speculative methods and new concepts to understand the ways in which emergent virtual learning environments in higher education might act upon student subjectivity. His post-qualitative inquiry incorporates a bricolage of postfoundational identity theorists and arts-based research methods, incorporating social science fiction, with the intention of producing an ethical form of futuring and anticipatory governance. His professional background as a senior manager in the higher education educational technology third-space informs his research interests and grounds its impacts toward future practice.
