Dr Alvey is a professor in the Department. of Area Studies, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, The University of Tokyo, Japan. She specializes in British Romanticism. Her publications include Strange Truths in Undiscovered Lands: Shelley's Poetic Development and Romantic Geography (Univ. of Toronto P, 2009, pbk. 2020). She is the editor and translator of Selected Poems of Percy Bysshe Shelley: Bilingual Parallel Edition (Iwanami, 2013).
